ABSTRACT

Objective: to base a methodology elaborated with a preventive approach, for the visit to the family in the education in the work of the career of Stomatology, validated theoretically and practically.
Methods: at the Victoria de Girón Institute of Basic and Preclinical Sciences a pedagogical research was carried out, with the purpose of creating a methodology that would allow to guide the home visit as part of the education at work. This project began with the revision of the Study Plan, the integrative discipline Comprehensive Stomatology and the career programs, emphasizing education at work. The opinion of seven experienced teachers was sought on the need to have this type of methodology to guide visits to the family on a preventive basis, which was later drafted and validated in practice with two groups of fourth and fifth year students. of Stomatology, through observation and questionnaires.
Results: the usefulness of the methodology written was verified, in the activity between teachers and students, for education at work.
Conclusions: theoretically and practically the effectiveness of the methodology created for the home visit was confirmed, with a fundamentally preventive intention.
