ABSTRACT
Trichorrhexis nodosa is a hair condition characterized by hair fracture, which can be congenital or acquired. The acquired form is usually caused by physical, thermal or chemical trauma that affects the hair structure, manifesting as whitish nodulations along the hair shafts. In this article, we report the case of a 24-year-old male patient with acquired distal trichorrhexis nodosa. Proper treatment included avoidance of these factors and the use of a repair shampoo along with biotin and zinc supplements, resulting in significant improvement and reduction of the affected areas.
