ABSTRACT

Synovial chondromatosis is a rare benign disorder characterized by the formation of cartilaginous bodies arising from the synovial membrane of a joint, tendon sheath, or bursa. The knee is the most uncomfortable site involved, and adult men are the patient population most affected. This case describes an adult male patient who clinically presented joint symptoms. The MRI study revealed multiple free cartilage fragments with synovial thickening that involved all the joint recesses of the knee. This case documents this rare synovial pathology as one of the diagnoses to be considered in the approach to nostalgia in the adult population.
