ABSTRACT

Introduction: gamification in medical education emerges as a need to improve student learning, motivation, and engagement. Objective: to analyze the impact of gamification on the development of clinical competencies in medical students and residents between 2020 and 2025. Material and methods: a systematic review was carried in PubMed and BMC following PRISMA guidelines, including observational studies with gamified interventions aimed at medical students and residents. Results: six observational studies and nine systematic reviews/metaanalyses were included. Gamification improved skills in clinical reasoning, technical performance, communication, and selfregulation. Conclusions: gamification represents an effective tool for strengthening clinical competencies and motivation, despite challenges in terms of methodological problems and curricular integration.
