ABSTRACT
In a global context where the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge play a central role in academic, technological, and social development, it is essential to strengthen scientific writing skills among researchers, especially those at early stages of their careers, as they strengthen their academic trajectory and contribute to the reputation and positioning of the institutions to which they belong. The ability to structure, write, and publish scientific articles not only allows for the validation and sharing of relevant findings but also contributes to the visibility of academic work and evidence-based decisionmaking. This article offers a comprehensive guide for the writing and structuring of scientific papers, with the aim of guiding researchers in the process of disseminating their research findings—from understanding the internal logic of a scientific manuscript, applying formal writing and presentation criteria, to becoming familiar with the editorial process. All of this is presented through a practical and detailed approach, describing the main sections that make up a scientific article (title, abstract, index, introduction, materials and methods, results, tables and figures, discussion, conclusions, and references), explaining precisely the objective, structure, and specific functions of each one. The title must be clear, concise, and reflect the central content of the study; the abstract summarizes the key elements of the work; the index organizes the content of the manuscript logically; the introduction presents the research problem, its justification, and objectives; materials and methods detail the study design and procedures used; the results present the findings objectively, supported by tables and figures; the discussion interprets the results, relates them to the literature, and analyzes their implications; the conclusions summarize the contributions of the study; finally, the references support the arguments presented. Additionally, fundamental aspects of the editorial process are addressed, such as the preparation and submission of the manuscript, peer review, responding to reviewers’ comments, and the stages of final editing and publication of the scientific article. Promoting training in scientific writing is essential to ensure rigorous, ethical, and effective communication of knowledge, with a positive impact both on the academic community and on society at large.REFERENCES
