Management of Sleep-Disordered Breathing: clinical case report

ABSTRACT

Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is defined as a disorder characterized by prolonged partial obstruction of the upper airways and/or intermittent complete obstruction (obstructive apnea) that disrupts normal ventilation and sleep patterns. Oral manifestations include mouth breathing, anterior maxillary collapse, hyposalivation, xerostomia, muscle hypotonia, and a high risk of caries lesions. We present the case of an eight-year and six-months old patient diagnosed with sleep-disordered breathing.
