Electroanalgesy, nociceptive somatic miofacial pain.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate the algologic level of the patient using electroanalgesy as helper of the customary therapy. Patients and methods: There were selected 30 patient, that attended to the Pain Clinic with nociceptive miofacial pain and that was found under similar pharmacological treatment and in a way continuous during at least two months previous study. Subsequent to evaluate the pain with the Analogous Verbal Scale of Pain (EVAD) resulting with the pharmacological treatment, was applied, previous informed assent, the therapy of Electroanalgesy (EA) during 40 minutes, two times to the day during three consecutive weeks, thereinafter was evaluated the EVAD at the end of each week being registered all the values. Upon concluding the study were analyzed the data through the tests of ANOVA and LEVINE of variance analysis of two factors. Results: 30 patient received the electroanalgesy therapy of the described form. The value average in EVAD in scale of 0 to 10 was of 6.1 ± 1.09 with the pharmacological and subsequent therapy to the first treatment week with EA the EVAD average was of 4.03 ± 1.84. Of these solely 17 concluded the three treatment weeks qualifying an average as 1.7 ± 0.98 subsequent to the third treatment week. Conclusions: For the results obtained in this study can conclude that the pharmacological therapy is all-important in the managing of the nociceptive somatic miofacial pain however when is accompanied of electroanalgesy as helper the results are of greater impact reducing in a way statisticaly meaningful the pain level of the patients.
