ABSTRACT

Objective: to reflect on the importance of self-Improvement as a new figure of the theory of Advanced Education for the improvement of teaching performance.
Development: Qualitative research is carried out through the review and documentary analysis that support the need for self-improvement to be identified as a technology with which the academician can acquire the knowledge that he needs to improve his performance. Research is based on the dialectical-materialist conception.
Conclusions: self-improvement as a new figure in the theory of Advanced Education is important because it improves teaching performance, stimulates intellectual production as well as group work, developing selfawareness.
