Production of Videos for the own course modality: Experience in the Latin American School of Medicine

ABSTRACT

Objective: to produce video materials with double intentionality: to be useful for face-to-face teaching and for the self-preparation of the student.
Materials and methods: The theoretical methods used were the description and explanation of the maneuvers seen by the teacher. The updated information from the 2015 American Heart Association guidelines for RCPC, which includes critical patient screening and Basic Cardiopulmonary-Cerebral Resuscitation, was used in the same way.
Results: the entire process of making scripts and production, was carried out entirely with personnel and own equipment and facilities of the ELAM, without having to resort to external services or personnel. The final product was a pack of 16 videos, each demonstrating a technique of Cardiopulmonarcerebral Resuscitation.
Conclusions: the videos were well received by the students, a result reflected in a survey applied at the end of the course, which also allowed to know suggestions, which have been taken into account for the preparation of future videos of a similar nature.
